Psychiatrist/psychotherapist with extensive clinical, teaching and research work.
PhD graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Clinical member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association – AGPA and member of the Society for the Study of Team Dynamics and Group Psychotherapy. Former Vice President of the Group Analysis Society of Greece.
His educational work is addressed to medical students (he is scientific associate of the Second Psychiatric Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), including the post graduate students in clinical and social psychology-AUTH, the faculty of psychiatric specialty of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki and the third and fourth year specializers junior third and fourth year on psychiatry, focusing in psychopathology, group therapy workshops, personality development etc. He is supervisor of trainees in group and individual psychotherapy.
He has organised and operated for many years Counselling Station in AUTH and YMCA and he is responsible for the counseling coverage of the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals of Northern Greece.
Furthermore, he is interested on the field of art of people with mental disorders. He is the Secretary of the Department of “Psychiatry and Art” of Greek Psychiatric Association. With initial participation of twenty patients, over the past twenty years he has created the “Cultural Communication Unit” of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki through which he has organized many events and exhibitions throughout Greece. He has also given many lectures, seminars and publications regarding the art of people with mental disorders.
He is also an artist with many solo and group exhibitions in Greece and he has with represented Greek art abroad.
He teaches psychopathology to trainees in psychodrama as a scientific associate of the Centre for the Study and Application of Psychodrama | Sofia Symeonidou.
